This is my first mixed media project. I first used news paper and did a paper maché for the background. And then I watered down some paint and made a 'splotchy' backdrop over the newspaper. Then I penciled in everything and painted. I also used markers for some things.
This is my first attempt at painting/drawing faces, so naturally it's not the best in the world. But the overall product itself is what I am pleased with. It was definitely the effect I was going for.

That's your first attempt at drawing/painting a face?! That's really good...I can honestly say I like this piece - the jumble of effects...it feels like a proper piece of artwork (if that makes any sense)! It feels kind of grunge-pop-art(?) ...as though it should be a poster of something! The text is a really nice addition to it too! I'd love to see more - with your creativity, using this style in traditional or digital medium I'm sure you will create loads more cool things!
